Insoles for High Arches

Turn heads, not ankles.

Think you could have high arches?

Answer our quiz to start getting back on track.

DO YOU:

A) Have a high arch bridge? Can you easily fit a dessert spoon under your arch? Do you walk on the outside borders of your feet and get callouses under your big toe / ball of foot? Do you find it hard to stabilise your body when walking on unstable ground? Do you have a bump on the back of your heels?
It’s likely you have a high arched foot type i.e. you roll outwards (supinate)

A+B) Suffer with pain in your outside ankle, under your big toe, top of your foot, outside leg, outside knee or lower back? It’s likely you have high arches that are causing you some trouble

Rollin’ out.

Having high arches often means:

  • reduced contact points with the ground (reduced stability)

  • increased lateral loading (increased strain on outside ankle and legs)

  • bowing of the shin and knees (wear and tear on knee joint)

  • increased use of the toe scrunching muscles

  • collapse of the metatarsal arch (painful balls of the feet)

  • increased loading through the ball of the big toe

  • reduced shock absorption (causing pain into the lower back)

  • increased likelihood of bone stress injuries

EB strikes the perfect balance.

A common misconception is that a high arched foot requires a high arched, hard orthotic or insole to support the arch. In fact, this will more-often-than-not cause the foot to roll out further and lead to an increase in symptoms.

Supporting high arched feet requires a combination of tilting the heel and forefoot inwards with a soft arch contour to balance the tilt. This combination will realign the foot, offload the lateral tissues, provide shock absorption and gently increase the surface area under the foot.

Both our EB FLATS and EB HEELS footbeds are suitable for a high arched foot. Both will provide outstanding cushioning, metatarsal support and offloading of the lateral foot, ankle and leg. Our EB FLATS insole will provide additional arch contour for those seeking further redistribution of pressure into the arch.

“I've been diagnosed with high arches causing lower back pain since I was a kid and no one has been able to help me. I put the EB insoles in and immediately I felt a shift in my body. A week later I was out shopping and realised that I’d been standing for two hours more than I normally would have. Thank you!”
